HBWN –November Newsletter
From the President…
I love nothing better than to enjoy great food and wine with wonderful company and I got to do just that at our Wine and Food Appreciation Dinner this month. The team at Boulevarde on Beaumont created a fabulous menu for us, and our organising committee Marian and Anne-Maree had us all involved on the night as we guessed what was in each of our dishes. You could say that we had the ‘Master Eaters’ at each table trying to determine if the dish had ham or speck, and which herbs were included. At the end of the evening the chef came out and let us know the specific ingredients and how each dish was cooked. It was a great way for everyone at the table to join in the fun! We were also informed and entertained by Ted Blanch from Draytons Wines. We had the opportunity to taste a number of their wines including their very special White Chocolate Liqueur.
I’d like to say a big thank you to all of our members who continually attend our events and make them so friendly and welcoming for everyone. I believe as a group we have created a wonderfully supportive environment for women to come together, network, share stories and learn from each other. As always we had a number of first-timers who commented that they felt very comfortable within the group and would definitely be back!
For the last few months our Media Coordinator, Lenore Miller has been the editor of our newsletter and she is doing a great job! What she hasn’t included is her own achievement in the section below, so I am adding it into my bit… Lenore has done what so many of us just talk about doing (myself included), she has written a book! It is called ‘Ignite Your Business Mojo’ and covers a multitude of topics that are relevant to anyone in business today. She has had some wonderful contributors including our own Sharyn Swan.
So let me take this opportunity to say CONGRATULATIONS to Lenore and Sharyn on such a fantastic achievement!
Have a fabulous month and I look forward to seeing all of you at the Party to end all Parties on December 8th!
Cheers Kellie

Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas FUN!!! – Wednesday 8th December
AND............ Happy 15th Birthday to Us!

This year marks HBWN 15th Birthday and we have decided to Celebrate this and Christmas all at the same time!
Did you come to last year’s Christmas Function? Members are still raving about what a fun filled night they had and this year is going to be even better, so you sure don’t want to miss out. We are including
* A Visit from Santa
* Our own DJ for music and dancing
* A great festive finger food menu at Noah’s by the Beach
* Last minute Christmas shopping opportunities
Great Price - as we have made this event extremely affordable we ask that each attendee brings a gift for a women valued at around $10-15, these will be donated to Jenny’s Place, Women’s Refuge. Please keep in mind these women leave some very drastic circumstances and often with nothing but their children and the clothes on their backs. At Christmas many items are donated to make the children’s Christmas fun but the Mum’s miss out. So we want to make Christmas special for these women and show them that others care!
Spoil Our Members - Last December we had a fabulous Members Christmas Party including a visit from Santa with gifts for everyone. Wouldn’t you like to be part of the fun this year? We are looking for donations of gifts and goodies to create a magical event for members. If you or your organisation can assist with this please contact Anne-Maree Willis

Thought for the month - an optimist is someone who figures that taking a step backward after taking a step forward is not a disaster, it's a cha-cha - Robert Brault.
Thanks to member Kate Douchkov for this one.
Have a successful month!
