HBWN – July Newsletter
From the President…
What a wonderful time to be a woman in this country! It’s so exciting to see a female Governor General, Prime Minister, Premier and State Governor, regardless of your individual political persuasion. Leaving the political arena aside we have some great female role models in senior positions in the Corporate world as well.
We women have an amazing ability to overcome adversity, ridicule and the hideous Tall Poppy Syndrome, to continue to strive and succeed. Those attending the ‘What Women Want’ conference got to hear some truly inspirational stories and viewpoints from some truly awesome women.
I love the positive energy that is generated when women get together to share ideas and support each other. If you haven’t experienced that great uplifting ‘female’ energy for a while, then why not come along to our monthly HBWN events? You can meet some truly awesome local women – just like yourself…
Have a wonderful month!
Cheers
Kellie
A Great Success!
The feedback from the Inaugural Regional Women Connect Conference – What Women Want, has been phenomenal, with an overwhelming number of attendees already asking when the next one will be; as one gorgeous woman commented ‘just like any great performance the crowd anticipates an encore! ‘
The Committee ably lead by Kellie Mills included Janette Dempsey, Deb Hoitink, Jenny Lankshear, Narelle Clement and Lenore Miller, are to be congratulated on such a well run, well received event.

'Great effort – thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience!'
'A no-pressure opportunity to do something useful without external impacts – phone, work etc.'
'Well done committee! All the presenters were of excellent quality and life changing content.'
'Exceeded my expectations! Do it again regularly!'
'I loved every minute – terrific balance and overall organisation – well done!'
'Congratulations on such a professionally run conference and expo!!! Fabulous prizes too...
The event provided inspiration motivation and information for women across both the corporate and public sectors as well as the small business sector. There was the opportunity to learn to clam the mind or belly dance and the conclusion of the day was a high energy performance where the attendees learnt the important skill of Kazoo playing!
Whilst the committee will be looking forward to a well earn rest from conference organizing, we’re assured that it’s just like ‘child birth’ once the baby’s born the pain is forgotten and you’re willing to do it all over again. Here’s hoping!!!!

Networking tip #
Follow-up is the lifeblood of effective networking. If you promise a contact or opportunity to a networking contact it’s important to follow through. This is what helps build strong relationships and credibility within any network you choose to belong.
