Regional Women Connect 2013
Get connected with Business Women in the Hunter!
On the 12th of September we held our annual Regional Women Connect Conference for 2013. The night was completely sold out, but those lucky enough to attend enjoyed the bubbly, mouthwatering food, breathtaking views and great company. Our speakers Layne Beachley and Amanda Rose did a brilliant job of inspiring all the women (and a few men) in attendance. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves an we hope that everyone who came took something away they can use to further their careers and life.
About our speakers:
Seven-time ASP Women’s World Champion. What more does one need to say? How about the most successful female surfer of all time? Better still, how about the surfer with the greatest number of consecutive world titles, male or female? Whatever criteria you choose, Layne Beachley is one of Australia’s greatest athletes. Having spent two decades breaking down barriers in her chosen sport, she has also committed herself to making it easier for young women to achieve their goals in their chosen fields – provided of course they have the will and the work ethic. Beachley kicked off her own clothing line, started a world tour event (the $100,000 Commonwealth Beachley Classic), and spearheaded the Aim for the Stars Foundation and the World of Difference program.
Host of “The Business Woman” radio which is the first and only radio program in Australia for business women. Amanda is an industry commentator and has been featured in My Business Magazine, Sydney Morning Herald, 2GB, SmartCompany.com.au, Marketing Magazine, Body & Soul, Womens Agenda and Peter Switzer SkyNews. Amanda has interviewed many amazing and inspiring women from all walks of life including:
Carolyn Creswell of Carmens Telstra Businesswoman of the Year 2012, Pru Goward NSW Minister for Community Services & Minister for Women, Gai Waterhouse Queen of Racing, Catriona Noble CEO of McDonalds Australia and many more.
How the night went
We had many women beaming after they attended our Regional Women Connect. Everyone had the opportunity to meet others, discuss their own business and make great contacts. We had professional photography and cinematography on the night which resulted in a beautifully constructed video, and many photos that captured the essence of the night. If you missed out on this event, there’s always next year!
